Dear Friends,
i miss every one of you, i hope you are all studying hard, and for those who finished, working hard to achieve their dreams, and having fun too.
7 Days and 2007 will leave, and 2008 will come, it is the yearly time for evaluation, for refreshing and for asking ourselves some questions, and have a resolution for the coming year.

at the end of 2007, what type are you ??

Stuck - Stargazer - Victim - or Success

and which one of them you want to be one year from now ?

by the end of 2008 do you want to say that ??

I’m Stuck
Foiled and fumbled, I’ve come to a screeching halt
My spirit is broken and reserves drained empty
I need to know what happened and assign due fault
I am trying to move but the guilt and excuses are weighty
So much goes on inside the mind stopped
Stories, replays, and why rationalizations
Progress held up and dreams overshadowed
By parasitic and carnivorous preconceived notions
Being stuck saps the soul of optimism and drive
Quicksand dense and stronger by the day
Living pushed aside by a need to survive
My goals and intentions have lost their way

or that ?

I’m a Stargazer
One day I’ll create a grand and elegant solution
Heralded, admired, and subject to benchmark
Pride will gush for being a catalyst to revolution
Success will flow like water and shine from dark
Tomorrow will be great I can feel it in my bones
Inspiration will pour into new plans of progress
Just need to discover and define the unknowns
Research options and queries listed to address
Premature launches discredit the value of sound timing
Patience and preparation consume and keep me hopeful
Like a stargazer I keep looking, seeking, staring
The sights and skies inspiring and wonderful

may be this ?

I’m a Victim
I can’t try any harder; I’m stressed and weary
At each turn another hurdle, failure or setback
How much will it take, I’m getting grouchy
I’ve made the effort, now I want a payback
So many avenues have been exhausted
Really, I am not a lazy or uncaring person
I’ve taken advice and remained open minded
These poor results are not supposed to happen!
Why has life chosen to be so cruel?
Why do I deserve this unfair treatment?
Why is this path so long and painful?
Why is success so elusive and distant?

definitely everyone of us want to say that :

I’m a Success
Spent, invigorated, victorious
I’ve made it to my mountain peak
The right map offered precise focus
Got there with perseverance and technique
The satisfaction of going all the way
Is large and grand like Everest
Mini miracles, hard work, some play
Success on purpose and by design is the best!
I knew what I wanted
I knew the best pathway
I did what I needed
I hit a grand slam, hooray!

i am sure everyone of us want to say that, and now it is the time to have the resolution you and i want for the new year
but is it enough to have the resolution only ?
answer is No, you need to focus and take actions
Focus occurs when a resolution is well defined and targeted on solving important problems (not symptoms) or seizing exciting opportunities. The desired outcome is clear, challenging, but attainable and Actions are selected based on how well they support the goal and the tendency to get sidetracked is rejected.

These steps might help you :

1. Embrace the opportunity to change your life.
2. New Year’s Resolutions can be fun  - let yours kickstart your year.
3. Select a resolution that you find exciting and meaningful.
4. Share your resolution with everyone!
5. Create a plan for success.
6. Get into action.
7. Adjust the plan as needed.
8. Stay in action.
9. Celebrate your successes!

Do you know how many times in my life I have been told that I can’t do something?

I have never been a great listener. That has worked to my favor and hurt me at the same time. I never really cared what anyone thought of me. It is a very difficult task to say or write something that offends me. Yet, those same characteristics were what allowed me to try and do things in the face of “reason” from friends and family.

I am just writing to give some encouragement to those that need the last straw to get them going. People are sedentary by nature. Change isn’t a comfortable situation for most people. I have been cautioned by many people for choices that I have made, and I have been told by others that my chances for success were limited at best. Some people opined out of genuine concern, while others did it out of a sense of resentment that I was trying something that they knew they wouldn’t/couldn’t try themselves.

The simply fact is that you CAN DO IT! Whatever it is you are trying, with enough effort and desire you can make it happen. I am not suggesting that you take unreasonable risks, but all efforts that are truely worth it take some risk. Don’t give in to the nay sayers. They are the “do nots” of the world.

Now people will look at my situation and say I got where I am because of “chance” or “luck”. Rubbish! Sure, nothing is guaranteed, but I would have no chance of success if I didn’t get out and try. That is what I want you to do. Get out and try, and put the reaons why you can’t behind you. Sometimes all it takes is someone to say they believe in you.

I have come a long way in my 20+ years (im Scorpio sign and my birthday is on Childhood Day, OH GOD!!), and realize I still have a long way to go. For those who don’t know me well I can be very abrasive at times and extremely demanding. I want things done now, and I want them done right the first time. When that doesn’t happen I look to see why the person isn’t performing to my, sometimes unrealistic, expectations. When I finally come to my senses I realize that people that work with me don’t love my business like I love my business and to expect them to always perform like it is life or death is silly on my part. You see often people that you perceive as “slackers” simply need to be presented with the right situation to shine. I have been around long enough to see several people that I never thought would “make it” end up doing great things in areas that they weren’t involved in at all just a few years ago. The problem is finding or creating that perfect situation where you can shine!

I believe one of the key areas that separates successful people from unsuccessful is a persons ability to create an environment where they can show off their stuff. Every person on this earth has incredible potential. I see it everyday. It isn’t judged on money, or how big your house is, but on whether or not you can look yourself in the mirror and say “I did well. I made the most of what I have been given.”

Find your niche and it will be your moment to shine! Stick with it and you can have a satisfying life day in and day out!

Today (Oct 2nd) Pharma-Club.NET will have officially been a domain going for 1 year. Our first month we had 14 people sign up. Now we signup 55 people every 4 weeks. What’s our secret? To be perfectly honest I don’t know… I know we try our best to provide a decent spirit, relieving atmosphere and quality service , but so do many of our competitors..
Hmm….

We are about 3 weeks away from hosting our 800th member on FOPCU Forum. [10% of FOPCU Students COVERED] That is quite a milestone and one we never thought we would reach. Thanks to everyone that helped us get there. You are why we are in business. Don’t worry, we will remember that!

I promise to work hard and try to make Pharma-Club the best pharmaceutical students’ community around (I may even think about pharma club twice or three times while I am in cote d`azur reeling in the King Salmon WHOA!).

Again, thanks to all, and here’s to another ONE year of pharma club growth!

Things are going very well right now. I have this burning in me to get things moving along. I can’t really explain it, but I get this insatiable desire to do 6 months worth of work in 30 days. It only happens a couple of times a year, but when it does look out! Competition is heating up in the chest, and we are going to respond in a big way with features, impacts, and great spirit.

Nobody likes to lose, but I hate it more than anybody I know. In fact I won’t allow my business to lose. We won’t lose market share, We won’t lose to the competition. When the competition pushes us, they are only tightening the noose around their own neck. I know that sounds bad if you don’t know me :) but my personality won’t allow me to just let things go. I have to respond, and respond in a successful business manner.

There has never been more activity and goings-on since day 1. We are actively working on things that should make the competition worry (With good reason). Why am I telling you this? The reason I am telling you this is because when competition heats up the member wins (Thats you!).

When I was young
I never needed anyone
And making love was just for fun
Those days are gone
Livin’ alone
I think of all the friends I’ve known
When I dial the telephone
Nobody’s home

All by myself
Don’t wanna be
All by myself
Anymore

Hard to be sure
Sometimes I feel so insecure
And loves so distant and obscure
Remains the cure

All by myself
Don’t wanna be
All by myself
Anymore
All by myself
Don’t wanna live
All by myself
Anymore

When I was young
I never needed anyone
Making love was just for fun
Those days are gone

All by myself
Don’t wanna be
All by myself
Anymore
All by myself
Don’t wanna live
Oh
Don’t wanna live
By myself, by myself
Anymore
By myself
Anymore
Oh
All by myself

It never ceases to amaze me how companies can run the race 95% of the way and then stop running completely. Let me explain what I mean. To get a company off the ground, any company, takes a lot of work and determination. Anyone who has a successful company knows that the first 12-24 months is by far the hardest (And the most fun :) ). What I don’t understand is that when they finally have it going they seem to stop. Maybe my mindset is just different than others. It is glaringly obvious to anyone who knows me well that I think differently than most people around me. I just don’t see things the same as others I guess. Lets take the business industry in Egypt local market as an example.

New born company A starts up. They spend a ton of time working on the technical backend, customer relationship center, great marketing, and good support. This is great! The company is well on its way and then - nothing. Thats it. It stays the same. I don’t understand it!??! There are SO MANY companies like this.

Sometimes customers don’t really get to see what we are working on in the dim corners of the offices , and so I want to shed a little light on what we see as our future. Our future is dynamic. We see it changing all the time (Hopefully for the better). We are working diligently on our BRAND NEW product (Actually its Eng. A. Abd AlAlim and not really part of mine). It needs work, but we are determined to make it the best “real” out there on the market. We are now actively planing for VPS (Virtual private servers). We are  accredited, which means we are going to be in the business soon in a very real way
VERY soon (As in just a few weeks). We are thinking of our highend data center (Still just considering). We are determined in the next month or so to get our average hold time to less than 20 seconds (Yes really!). We are also implementing a plan that will happen sooner than later that will have all level 1 and level 2 tickets answered in less than 10 minutes.

If your average hold time is 3 minutes, and your average ticket response time is less than 1 hour you have run 90% of the race right? Why do so many companies stop there. You have a real chance to shine and show your customers that you really do care. Don’t stop at 90%. Invest that extra 10% that doesn’t cost that much and makes you head and shoulders above the competition. In business the race never ends so never stop running. The moment you do your company goes down the path to irrelevance.

When I was 19 years old I went to  the local branch of Banque BNP Paribas . It was the single greatest experience of my life. I learned fluent IT skills, learned a lot about the people, and most important, I learned what people were missing in their lives. I tried to help fill that void.

When I first got there, I was a bit of a know-it-all. My personality is the “RED” type personality that is the controlling, always right kind of guy (Mixed in with a 1/3 of yellow - the fun loving, jokester guy). This combination of my personality with my intended goals of being the best mission I would sometimes clash.

It was suggested by a friend that I read an EXCELLENT BOOK called, “How to win friends and influence people” by Dale Carnegie. This book changed my mission experience, and later profoundly changed the way I work and deal with others on a daily basis.

The book is a FABULOUS tool for anyone that wishes to better understand others and work with them to accomplish a specific goal.

My mission experience was far better for me having read this book, but my business life simply would have gone no where without the advice that I try to employ daily that I have learned from this book .

I am in no way affiliated with this book. I simply want to make others aware of how much worth it has to ANYONE that has to work/live/talk to other people on a regular basis. This book is a gold mine if used properly.

It is full or real world examples, and is a quick easy read. I suggest you pick one up and see what it can do for your personal and professional life if you haven’t already read it.

If others have had a positive experience with “How to win friends and influence people” I would very much like to hear your stories about it.

Thanks,
